Announcing our Next Big Adventure!

Even with all of the excitement happening with Sunshine, Lollipops & Rainbows we are always on the lookout for another great adventure. Our life continues to be enriched by the mental and physical challenges we take on.

So our philosophy has always been: go out and do something amazing. So with that in mind, we are excited to announce our next great challenge: We are climbing a mountain!

If you have followed us since the beginning you might be aware that Maura completed the Climb to Beat Breast Cancer LeConte Challenge in June of this year. With a team of climbers she took on this 6,593 feet peak within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee.

The climb was part of an annual climb to benefit the St. John Providence Breast Care Program, through The Maria R. Lucarelli Endowment Fund. She and the team from St. John Providence raised over $85,000 for the St. John Providence Breast Cancer Foundation!

She as so moved by the experience she knew, even before descending back to sea level, that she would do the mountain climb again. And this time I am hoping to go with her!

The 2017 mountain climb will take on the Brasstown Bald Mountain in Georgia on June 24th, 2017. This is Georgia’s highest mountain, rising 4,784 feet above sea level.

We will be sharing more information as we train and plan, but be on the lookout for special fundraising products from Sunshine, Lollipops & Rainbows that will help us meet our fundraising goal for $1000 each, We will be making our special pink ribbon headbands (worn here by Maura during the 2016 climb and have them available at all events and available for special orders (and soon will be available online). For each headband purchased, $4 will be donated to the climb!

We will also have pink ribbon lollipops available for purchase. These will cost $2 with $1 supporting the climb. I can’t think of a more delicious way to support a great cause!
